Notifications
ECShip can send pre-notification emails to shipment recipients, informing them about an upcoming delivery. If the carrier supports tracking, the email includes a tracking URL.
Enabling Pre-Notifications
On the shipment document:
- Enable Send pre-notification (e-mail) checkbox
- The notification fields become visible

How It Works
Pre-notifications are sent as part of the shipment processing to nShift. When the shipment is sent:
- ECShip includes the notification details in the shipment data sent to nShift
- nShift processes the shipment and sends the notification email to the recipient
- If the carrier provides tracking, the email includes a tracking URL
The notification is handled entirely by nShift — no email configuration is needed in Business Central.
Tips
- Pre-notifications require the appropriate carrier service addon to be available and configured. The addon is typically named something like "E-notification" or "Pre-advice" depending on the carrier.
- The Enot To E-mail can be different from the standard ship-to email if you want to notify a different person.
- Not all carriers support tracking URLs. The tracking link availability depends on the carrier.
